fyeahroleplayingrabbit: It’s getting real old but I have so few ideas myself that if I complain I just sound like an jerk. So I just sit down shut up and let my partner run the story…but lately it just annoys me to no end that it’s allll about their OC and mine are just going through the motions to please my partner. That’s like rping with a robot and I’m the robot. So you have no ideas of your own and apparently refuse to discuss anything with your partner and now you’re getting bent out of shape because, what, your partner doesn’t do your thinking for you? Here’s a wild thought: talk to your partner. If you have an idea, push it forward. Ask for input or help in fleshing it out, if necessary, but remember that your partner isn’t psychic and can’t tell that you have an idea of your own if you don’t tell him/her. If you don’t have any ideas, Try asking your partner for help in coming up with a story that focuses more on your character, then you can be the one offering suggestions and input to make sure the story is either focused on your character or has more of a balance of the two. If your partner ignores your ideas or keeps trying to focus everything on his/her characters, then it’s time to find a new partner. But until you actually discuss the problem and, yknow, let your partner know that there IS a problem, then you can’t fairly blame him/her for going about business as usual. Or hey, maybe it’s just a case of burnout and all you need is some time off. Time you can use to really flesh out whatever ideas you have to make a better presentation to your partner. I’m suffering a severe case of burnout, myself, and nothing I come up with or see others come up with sounds like fun. It doesn’t mean the ideas are bad, it just means my heart isn’t in it right now.
